Richard Gullion is a San Jose artist whose expressive style is featured in our 2nd show at Axis Art Gallery, "On the Edge".

San Francisco painter Jeffrey Thompson show opens later this month. His artist statement says "I believe in simplicity, function, and connection. As a fine artist I work in mixed media, painting, drawing, and collage. My work includes found objects, especially as they relate to personal history.

I studied Intaglio and Lithography at Cal State Hayward (CSU Eastbay) under Kenji Nanao and Misch Kohn, followed by a brief appearance at the San Francisco Art Institute, where I also studied printmaking with Mitchi Atami and Dick Graf.

My first San Francisco exhibition was in 1989 at Project Artaud in the mission district. I have shown work recently with many noteworthy local artists including Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Jack Hirschman and Matt Gonzales."
